This highlights all the Michael Jordan cards that were produced prior to the famous 1986-87 Michael Jordan Fleer card.
Michael Jordan had two years worth and 25 Star Co. basketball cards, 24 of which were released to the public via the Star Co. pursuant to a valid contract with the NBA prior to the 1986-87 Fleer #57 Jordan which is ironically considered his rookie card. His second year base set card is his 1985-86 Star #117 which makes it odd to some that his 1987-88 Fleer #59 card is often referred to as his second year card. Despite the #101 having been designated an XRC by Beckett because of how it was distributed, the 1987-88 Fleer #59 card in actuality is Jordan’s fourth year base set card or his second Fleer card, not his second year card. Jordan's 1986 Best of the Best #9 was released in the early 1990's and after the 1986-87 Fleer Jordan.
The #101 is considered the “True” Michael Jordan rookie and is typically off-center. #195 and #288 were also part of the 1984-85 series and were in a Olympic/Highlights bagged set.
